Chickadee Building a House |
|
On an Easter morning walk, my boys and I came across two chickadees excavating a hole in small, dead trunk. Here's one of them pausing a moment at the hole. Photo by Peder Stenslie near New Town. |

Photo by Peder Stenslie near New Town. We could hear the chickadees hacking away inside the stump. Soon they'd appear with a bunch of material to be removed. |

Black-capped Chickadee feeding baby Robins |
|
I took several pictures of two Chickadees feeding baby Robins. They would feed them sunflower hearts, fly away, parents came in and fed, then sat in tree while Chickadees returned. They take turns back and forth. The Robins didn't mind the help. |

The babies are about ready to fledge and they have been helping to feed for quite awhile. Photo by Sherry Leslie near Burlington, ND. |
