leucistic house finch
This leucistic house finch appeared today (1 March, 2007) among a substantial flock of other house finches. Oddly, it appears to be the same bird that showed up last spring. Also weird was another abnormal bird...a yellow variant house finch.

yellow variant house finch
The yellow variant house finch is to the lower left among other normally plumaged birds. Sibley states that this color appears in house finches more commonly in the Southwest.
