N. D. Birding Society - N. American Birds Report Form

Please return to: Corey Ellingson, 1728 N. 22nd St., Bismarck, ND 58501.
Spring reporting season March-May. Report due June 10.
Summer reporting season June-July. Report due Aug. 10.
Fall reporting season Aug.-November. Report due Dec. 10.
Winter reporting season Dec-February. Report due Mar. 10.

INSTRUCTIONS: The species listed here include those most likely to occur in the listed seasons. Those marked with an asterisk deserve some special comment, and in some cases a documentation form may be supplied for you to fill out for the NDBRC. *F indicates documentation needed for fall only and *S indicates documentation needed for spring only. Space is necessarily limited. If you have too much information to fit the space, put it on additional sheets. The same goes for species not included on the list. Please try to maintain checklist order. The AOU made more changes in the recently published edition, and the new order is now in use.

WHAT TO INCLUDE: Any unusual observations, such as casual and accidental species; changes from the norm, such as reduced or increased numbers of a species, deviations from normal migration dates, etc. For migrants, include the first, peak, and last observation for the season. For permanent residents include any observations of interest.

FORMAT: First, peak, last Date (Number) Location (Observer initials). For example: First 4/30 (4) Minot (GBB,REM) indicates that the first observation was 4 individuals on April 30 at Minot by GBB and REM. A complete listing for a common transient might look as follows: First 4/3 (6) Minot; peak 4/25 (250) McHenry Co.; last 5/15 (3) Upper Souris NWR (REM). This format is concise and, for most observations, complete.

OBSERVERS: (Please include middle initial.)
