Snowy Plover - Long Lake NWR |

Photo by Dean Riemer, found by Corey Ellingson. Two juvenile birds were present at Long Lake NWR. This is 35 miles SE of Bismarck - suspected nesting in the area. Note the darker legs, and somewhat thinner bill than a Piping Plover juvenile. |

Photographed by Peder Svingen of Duluth, MN. This bird was found by Kim Risen doing a bird tour through Kidder County on May 31st. It was present for at least a week at Lake Etta, Kidder Co. along with 6 Piping Plovers. |

From I-94 Exit 208, travel south ~ 6 miles(?) past the lakes on both sides of the road and the road straightens out. Take the next right (west) and proceed to a T intersection. The bird is on the islands along the south shore ahead of you. |
