From the Exp. Station on Highway 6 coming south out of
Mandan turn west (right) onto County road 44 (the first road west south of the Station). Proceed 5.1 miles to the west - (it winds a bit the first 2 miles). Turn left (south) and proceed. |

The bird was feeding on the road and perched on the utility wires on the north side of the road. It was also perching on the cut alfalfa to the north.... making it very hard to pick out. Photo by Keith Corliss |

From Jamestown, follow ND 20 and then ND 9 north and west for approximately 30 miles. At ND 9's milepost 17.8, turn left (west) onto 11th St. SE (signed for Arrowwood NWR).
