Curlew Sandpiper
	Image by Dave Lambeth. Location: "potato sludge fields" nw of Grand Forks. In this sunlit side view, note scaly appearance of back (compare with Sibley), and lack of markings ventrally except for the breast band. Head pattern also helpful.
Taken: 2004-10-13	From the I-29/U.S. 2 interchange in GF, go West 2 miles, then turn N for 2 miles (past the lagoons) to an intersection. Turn West. In the next half mile, there will be three opportunities to turn right into pullouts where potato waste is dumped.

	Curlew Sandpiper located at the Minot Lagoons by Bob Danley. Bird remained for two days allow many observers to view this gem. Dave Lambeth photo.
Taken: 2002-08-02	This is a second state record, preceded only by an individual found by John Kelly near Grand Forks on May 23-28, 1982.
